A fun two-hour introduction to improvised theatre, which will introduce students to elements of spontaneity, character, problems, and plot via a series of games and exercises that will develop from the very simple to the simple. Focus will include listening, and taking small steps. This is a theatrical workshop focused on telling stories about characters with interesting problems. Ideally participants will be modestly mobile and able to stand for fifteen minutes at a time, but seated participation is also definitely an option! Limited to 8 people.
TJ Radcliffe has studied acting, theatrical improv and improvised musical theatre in Vancouver with the Improv Comedy Institute at VTS, Second Storey Theatre, Blind Tiger, Instant Theatre, and elsewhere, and been part of various improv groups on the Lower Mainland, including the Treble Makers and 180 Improv.
Presented by the Gabriola Players this workshop runs about 2 hours.
