A chance for kids and their grownups to sing familiar songs together such as Wheels on the Bus and On Top of Spaghetti. We’ll bring some extra percussion instruments with us, too, for any burgeoning musicians. Whoopee!
The Oot n’ Oots make kids music that is, to quote Jerry Garcia, not for kids only.
Drawing on diverse influences from the history of rock n’ roll, this is a band with chops, soul, and swagger. Their original songs are wildly imaginative, brimming with humour and inspiration.
The band is 12-year-old Ruth Cipes, with her dad Ezra and uncles Ari, Gabe, and Matthew. Ruth trades lead vocal duties with Ari and his melodic tenor.
“It’s like Flight of the Conchords meet Fred Penner – with an 11 year old powerhouse of a lead singer thrown in for extra sass.” — Squamish Constellation Festival
